Sorvive the Guadalupe-Reyes 🍾 🥳

Although times have changed, there are things that will never cease to exist, such as the Guadalupe-Reyes marathon, which is the most important marathon for Mexicans and of which, so far, there is no record that anyone has survived without a size. the rest.

Its origin dates back to the 90s of the last century, when the authorities of Mexico City launched a police operation for the holidays under that name.

Currently, the Guadalupe-Reyes marathon includes at least 15 parties, to which are added toasts with friends, co-workers and family:

  • December 12: celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

  • December 16 to 24: during this period the posadas are held -9 in total-

  • December 24: Together with the last inn, Christmas Eve is celebrated.

  • December 25: Christmas is celebrated.

  • December 28: Commemoration of the day of the Holy Innocents.

  • December 31st: New Years Eve celebration.

  • January 1: New Year's party.

  • January 6: Day of the Magi and departure of the traditional rosca de reyes.

Therefore, I give you these simple tips to survive it:

First you must remember that in 2020 it is recommended to stay at home to avoid the spread of covid-19. If you don't, don't forget to take the appropriate health measures. For this reason it is important to celebrate the holidays with responsibility and finish the marathon in the best way.

Eat healthy. Include in each coexistence, at least one food from the three groups: vegetables and fruits, cereals and legumes, and foods of animal origin. Also, eat as little fat, sugar and salt as possible, to keep cholesterol and triglyceride levels stable, and not return to carrying extra pounds in January.

Don't skip meals. Many people choose to skip lunch or dinner to balance their caloric intake in the evening, however staying hungry will only cause you to eat more at night, not to mention it can cause inflammation, heartburn and constipation.

Will you consume alcohol? If you are going to drink a cocktail with alcohol, try to mix it with mineral water, or with juices and low-calorie soft drinks. This will help you significantly reduce your caloric intake without changing the taste of your favorite drink.

One or two drinks at the time of toasting can be harmless but beware of excesses, since in addition to causing more hunger and an uncontrolled intake of food during dinner, alcohol will quickly turn into fat so it is best to avoid it in as much as possible.

Move on! Sweating also helps to eliminate alcohol. Try not to sit for too long. If the celebration allows it, dance. Or at least get up and walk around, this will burn some calories.

Don't cancel your exercise routine. It would be a shame to lose your figure by "not being able to refuse at dinner time", however with 20 or 30 minutes of exercise a day will be enough to eat a little of everything.

Bonus. Eating and hydrating helps lower blood alcohol levels. Drink a glass of water for each alcoholic drink to dislodge metabolized waste faster and above all, to avoid dehydration. It will also make a big difference in your fitness the next day.

To recover after a night of drinking, drink plain water or sports drinks. Another recommendation is to allow at least 48 hours to detox before continuing to consume alcohol.
